The Immobilise warning labels and key fobs featuring a unique QR code and serial number, are designed to do three important things:-
a. Warn thieves
b. Help honest finders return property
c. Give police visibility of registered items
Once applied to an item of value and registered on Immobilise, your property becomes identifiable, traceable, and harder to sell on. That visibility alone acts as a powerful deterrent — criminals avoid items that can be traced.
How the SMART bit works
Every label/fob carries a unique serialised QR code linked to your Immobilise registration.
If your item is ever lost and later found, a good citizen sees the Immobilise label and is prompted to either:-
- Hand the item in to the police (who can search ownership via the National Mobile Property Register), or
- Scan the QR code using their phone.
1. Scanning the code opens the Immobilise finder page, already pre-filled with the label’s serial number.
2. The finder enters their contact details (privacy protected) and submits the form.
3. Immobilise support securely matches the serial number to the registered owner and puts both parties in touch.
No guessing. No serial numbers to type. No personal details shared publicly.
